Connecting Southern Gold Coast Tomewin Mountain Challenge

Connecting Southern Gold Coast has joined in supporting local fitness company Chisel Fitness to bring an exciting new event to the Gold Coast hinterland.

On Sunday August 28th 2011, the Currumbin Valley will play host to spectacular new running event – The Inaugural Connecting Southern Gold Coast Tomewin Mountain Challenge.

The 22km event will be completed by individuals, as well as teams of 2 or 3 runners, along a course that will showcase some of the most picturesque landscape that the Southern Gold Coast has to offer.

Chisel Fitness owner Chris van Hoof is excited about sharing the new course with fellow runners.

“We have already attracted interest from interstate running groups which shows that people are willing to travel to run in our beautiful region.  I think it’s great that people are coming together to share in a healthy challenge and experience the magic of the Currumbin Valley.”

The run will also be helping to raise funds for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

Jim Wilson, General Manager of Connecting Southern Gold Coast said, “This event will draw attention to the beautiful Currumbin Valley hinterland and has the potential to become a truly international event at the most beautiful time of the year for the Southern Gold Coast. As such the organizers are working with us to promote our excellent Southern Gold Coast accommodation houses and restaurants, for supporters of the event to enjoy, when making a weekend of it.”
