The Kath Dickson Institute of Early Childhood Studies is a registered training organisation delivering competency based training to child-care students at all levels including:
- Certificate II in Community Services.
- Certificate III in Children's Services.
- Diploma of Children's Services( Early childhood education and care)
- Advanced Diploma of Children's Services.
- Certificate IV in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
- Diploma of Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
We have a thorough knowledge of all relevant Queensland Child Care Regulations. Our reputation for excellence can be verified by our continued place on the Department of Education and Training’s List of Preferred Suppliers. We have a User Choice Contract to deliver training for Traineeships and Apprenticeships.
Where possible our students can choose from a selection of delivery modes including night class, regular onsite visits for training and support, or externallyor online.
All of our students have access to our Student Support Line in order to obtain additional assistance with their studies.
The Kath Dickson Institute of Early Childhood Studieshas offices in Toowoomba, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, these officesare complemented byfull time Administrativestaff and large well-equipped training rooms. These rooms contain modern teaching aids in order to offer evening classes and an array of professional development sessions.
The Kath Dickson Family Centre’s Resource Library is housed within the Kath Dickson Institute of Early Childhood Studies at 353 Ruthven Street Toowoomba. All Kath Dickson staff and students have access to this large and comprehensive range of training resources designed to meet the requirements of the courses on offer at the centre. Books, videos, journals and current publications are all available at the Library. Resources are also offered to trainees in the field as a complement to their studies and to share with Child Care Centre staff.
The Kath Dickson Institute of Early Childhood Studies offers a wide range of training packages, which are delivered by qualified Training Staff. There are fifteen early childhood trainers conducting child care courses and visiting Kath Dickson Child Care Trainees and Apprentices throughout Queensland.
