Matika Handley, ActivOT Upper Coomera provides in-home occupational therapy services to the Gold Coast area.
Matika’s previous clinical experiences enabled her to gain a depth of knowledge in aged care and community practice. Matika has a range of experience with clients of all ages and conditions including stroke, dementia, physical conditions and paediatrics.
In addition, Matika has a strong interest in home modifications and has an extensive range of skills and knowledge in this area, including minor and major modifications. She hopes to continue growing her skills and knowledge in this area.
Due to her clinical experience in aged and community settings, Matika has a range of experience in the following areas of occupational therapy practice:
- home modifications, assistive technology, manual handling, falls prevention
- pressure care management
- home safety assessments
- paediatric intervention such as milestone development, executive functioning, social skills and fine motor skills
- pain management, energy conservation, falls prevention and upper limb therapy
- Functional Capacity Assessments
