“The Southport campus has become an enriching and energetic space that encourages greater levels of collaboration between students through peer-study zones and adaptable technology,” said Ms Dodd.
“The new student hub on level 1 has proven to be the greatest addition boasting an industrial design including contemporary furniture, technology-driven study zones, a student cafeteria with kitchen facilities, TV’s, computers, touch screens and a student enquiry centre.”
“As a part of TAFE Queensland Gold Coast’s refurbishment, we have also extended the campus opening hours so students can benefit from the facilities to create a better study, work and social balance.”
The upper levels of the campus include collaborative classrooms enabling flexible learning and teaching methods, further study zones as well as real world training environments simulating modern workplaces such nursing labs, aged care facilities and a hairdressing salon.
From semester 2, 2015 the campus will also include a beauty treatment studio which is currently under construction.

While a lot of the courses have relocated from the Ashmore campus; trade skilled courses still remain at the Ashmore site creating a specialised trade training centre.
