For over 35 years Shihan Bill Wakefield has been teaching self-worth, self-esteem and self defence on the Gold Coast in primary schools, high schools and businesses. In 1998 Bill Wakefield opened up Combinewd Martial Arts Academy, a full time professionally run facility. Complete with mats, equipment, mirrors, bathroom emenities and more. Combined Martial Arts offers martial arts instruction to students of all ages, starting at the age of 3.
Led by a staff of expert instructors, we offer a number of programs for both physical fitness as well as instruction in Shotokan Karate with roots in Brazillian Ju-Jitsu, Kickboxing and more - thus the name Combined Martial Arts Academy.

At Combined Martial Arts Academy, we are not only interested in fighting and self defense skills, but in the development of each person as a whole. The real value lies not simply in the belt you earn, but the changes that occur within you along your journey.
The true goal of training is to use the lessons you learn in the humbo to enrich every part of your life. Nowhere is this more important than in our youth programs where we embody the very same principles that you as parents are trying to instill in your children.
Business Hours
We are open from 10:30am to 7pm, Monday through Thursday, 10:30am - 4.30pm Friday, and 8.30am - 12.30pm Saturday. We are open through school holidays.
